Veteran Affairs Encourages Veterans to Submit Claims Before Deadline

Veteran’s can submit an intent to file a claim with VA at any time. An intent to file a claim let’s VA know that you plan to submit a claim, but are gathering evidence before fully submitting your claim. Veteran’s have one year to submit a claim after submitting an intent to file.

VA is dedicating time to reach out to Veteran’s who have submitted an intent to file between June and August of last year, but have not fully submitted their claim. There is an estimated 300,000 intent to file claims that have the potential to expire. 

Veteran’s and their survivors must submit their Camp Lejeune related claims before August 10, 2024. Or they will lose out on potential compensation.
