Camp Lejeune Justice Act Deadline

On August 10th 2022, the PACT Act legislature was signed into law. The PACT Act was designed to increase the presumptive locations and medical conditions for various toxic exposures.

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act was created as part of the PACT Act. It allows individuals who were exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987 to potentially recover damages due to injuries resulting from this exposure. To qualify, you (or a family member) must have resided, worked, or were otherwise exposed to the contaminated water (including in utero exposure) for at least 30 days during the above dates. Claimants have up to two years from the date the PACT Act was signed into law to file a claim.

The deadline to file a claim is August 10, 2024

Claims made under the CLJA are separate from claims for VA disability compensation. If you are interested in filing a claim for VA disability compensation based on exposure to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune, click here.
