Water Contamination

As word continues to spread about water contamination that exposed at least half a million people to toxic chemicals and carcinogens at Camp Lejeune during the period from 1957 to 1987, Veterans and their families are gaining more support. Recently, Erin Brockovich, whose work to fight against a California company that polluted a city’s water supply was the basis of a now-famous film, is lending her support to a bill proposed by North Carolina senators Richard Burr and Kay Hagan. This bill would provide health care for service members and families who were exposed to the contaminated water.
