Today it was announced that DynCorp International has become the first major corporate sponsor of Veterans Moving Forward, Inc., a non-profit, Veteran-focused organization that provides trained service dogs to Veterans with physical and mental disabilities. DynCorp International is a global government services provider that provides support to U.S. defense, diplomacy, and international development needs.
Steve Gaffney, chairman and CEO of DynCorp International said that, “Our veterans put themselves in harm’s way for this country, and we want to do what we can to assist them when they return home,” elaborating and saying that, “DynCorp International is proud to support Veterans Moving Forward’s important work to train and provide therapy and service dogs to veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other injuries incurred in the line of duty.”
Karen Jeffries, Executive Director of Veterans Moving Forward, has similarly expressed her thanks for the sponsorship, saying that, “our first assistance dog in training, Josh, is being sponsored by DynCorp, and we look forward to a mutually rewarding partnership with DynCorp over the next 18 months of Josh’s training.”
Veterans Moving Forward was founded in July 2010. VMF dogs have visited wounded military Veterans at hospitals and have participated in PTSD therapy.
