An LA-based choir of 10 veterans is competing on the television show “America’s Got Talent.” The choir is affiliated with New Directions, an organization that provides comprehensive services to Los Angeles County veterans. New Directions provides outpatient services as well as residential treatment centers. The need for such support is great in LA, where approximately 20,000 homeless veterans (11% of the national homeless veteran population) lives. The choir performs a cappella, singing popular and gospel songs. The members are current and former resides of New Directions.
The choir is available for private events, but for now will likely be focusing on “America’s Got Talent” as they were advanced to the next round of competition in Las Vegas.
