Proposed Regulations for New Presumptive Conditions

On March 25, VA issued the long-awaited proposed regulations adding Parkinson’s Disease, ischemic heart disease, and B Cell Leukemias to the regulatory list of disabilities presumed to be caused by herbicide exposure.  The publication includes the projected financial impact the change will have through compensation awards, increased claim-processing burdens, and provision of VA healthcare.  Comments must be received by VA by April 26.  See the publication of the proposed regulations here:  http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2010/pdf/2010-6549.pdf
