A few months ago, Air Force Veteran Robert Morrison was living on the streets as one of 500 homeless Veterans in the Fayetteville, NC area. Now, with the help of a group called Veterans Empowering Veterans, he has an apartment and a job.
Two years ago, when Veterans Empowering Veterans started, it only had 8 clients and was working to help Veterans find food, work, shelter and hope. Now the program is working with more than 130 Veterans and their family members.
Many of the volunteers are Veterans who were themselves helped by Veterans Empowering Veterans. These volunteers help participating Veterans find jobs, write resumes, and most importantly of all, give them hope, long after many have given up.
