On Sunday, April 13, 2014, Pulitzer Prize winning author Nicholas Kristof published a powerful and poignant essay about war and Veterans.
He described the plight of wounded Iraq War Veteran Mike Yurchison, who suffers from posttraumataic stress disorder (PTSD).
Kristof’s column mentioned how Mike’s brother completed suicide. The essay also discussed VA’s claim delay and error crisis (also known as “the backlog”).
The widely read newspaper also contains a link to a Bergmann & Moore blog from January 2014 containing VA stats about VA’s 1.4 million disability claim inventory.
