Korean War Weapons Being Sold to US Collectors

Weapons originally sent to Korea as a military aid during the Korean War are being prepared to be sold back to United States collectors.  Some of this number includes carbines, which were known to jam during extremely cold weather conditions in Korea, and also often failed to prevent heavily clothed North Korean or Chinese soldiers from advancing.  Some of these rifles and carbines were also utilized during the Vietnam War.  For five decades they have been stored in warehouses in South Korea, only rarely being used for training exercises.  All together, it is expected that 86,000 M1 rifles and 22,000 carbines will be sold.
