Invisible War Wounds: Yes, There’s an App for That

A half-dozen mobile phone applications, with names like “T2 MoodTracker,” “PTSD Coach,” and “Breathe2Relax,” have been developed by the Pentagon and Veterans Affairs Department to assist with the coping of PTSD and brain injuries.

Although these applications are not meant to diagnose illness or replace psychiatric counseling, they help to self-assess symptoms by giving step-by-step instructions in muscle relaxation and breathing, allow users to create a phone list of people to call when they need support and provide quick access to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline in emergency situations.
