Congress Passes Veterans Caregivers Bill

Both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have passed a bill to provide increased government benefits to family members of disabled Veterans who care for Veterans of recent wars instead of working.  The bill also provides more support for female Veterans (including a pilot childcare program and post-delivery care for newborns), expanded mental health services, and increased funding for programs assisting homeless and rural veterans.  The bill will become law with President Obama’s signature.
