Proposed Regulations for Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.

The VA has proposed new regulations to add nine diseases for which Veterans of the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan or the 1991 Gulf War will be given “presumptive status”.  Veterans who have these diseases and served in these conflicts would be eligible to receive benefits from the VA.  The nine diseases are:

 

Malaria

West Nile Virus

Brucellosis

Campylobacter

Jejuni

Coxella Brunetii

Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

Nontyphoid Salmonella

Shigella

Viceral Leishmaniasis
