After graduation he began his private practice in veterans law, joining Bergmann & Moore in January 2009. From 2000 to 2008 he was also a supervising attorney with the Bill Smith Homeless Veterans Project in Los Angeles. Dan has been active in the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA) since becoming a member in 1998. He was vice president from 2003 to 2005, served on the board of directors from 2002 to 2005, and was co-chair of the litigation committee from 2003 to 2005. He filed amicus briefs for NOVA in the U.S. Supreme Court in Norton v. Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, 542 U.S. 55 (2004), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Shoffner v. Principi, 16 Vet. App. 208 (2002). |
